This track is my remix of two songs from Super Meat Boy. Back when the soundtrack was about to be released, Danny did a remix contest of a few tracks off his soundtrack for the game on OC ReMix. The winners of the contest would get their tracks included on the original soundtrack alongside the originals.
Now, if you've played the game, you already know that you can unlock warp zones that have chippy remixes of the main stage themes by Danny... and the two tracks he made available for the contest were stage themes so they already had demakes. I contacted him and asked him if he would mind me doing some other song from the soundtrack. After listening to a good portion of it, I settled on the first and second boss themes, because they seemed to mesh together, and got to work on my arrangement.
When I sent a work-in-progress a little later, Danny liked what he heard, and told me if I could finish it in a day or two I'd get included on the initial release. I was blown away! I finished as fast as I could, and now it's track 33 on the soundtrack and it's also on the physical release. Awesome!

A perfect blend of Street Fighter and Mega Man, done by a buddy of mine that knows both of them intimately. A must-listen for parody/chiptune heads. Inverse Phase
Into anime? Similar to my pop mix albums, here's a great collection of 20(!) tracks from anime openings and credit sequences on the Famicom/NES, featuring a bunch of different expansion chips. Inverse Phase
Film and Game composer Howard Drossin did the soundtrack to the new Splatterhouse redux, and there's three albums, which includes a separate (free!) album release of remixes, one of which is mine. Inverse Phase
The bright, fizzy songs on “Dedication 2” were written and played using the Commodore 64, capturing the vintage computer’s feel. Bandcamp New & Notable May 9, 2021
