For my next trick, I'd like to introduce another cover-of-a-cover-artist. My buddy Brentalfloss did a fantastic CD full of his "what if videogames had lyrics?" series. As you may already know, his VGM covers are accurate, and well, if I chipcovered them, we would just end up with the original game tunes.
BUT WAIT! Brentalfloss did a few originals as well. In particular, he expressed his undying love for Corey, the only girl on staff at Screwattack, in a secret song unveiled at their event, SGC, and this song exists nowhere in videogame form. Inverse Phase to the rescue!
So, what *if* Brentalfloss were a video game? Well, Brentalfloss is a really cool guy. He listened to this track several times while I was putting it together to make sure everything matched up. We are reasonably sure this is what Brent would sound like if he were a Nintendo. Fortunately for the ladies, his hardware is a lot more powerful than that, if you get my drift. <megahertz joke>
By the way, to hear the original song, head over to
brentalfloss.bandcamp.com and listen to "Corey", then pop back over here and listen to this. Or the other way around. Whatever floats your goat. And check out Brent's actual website at
brentalfloss.com if you want, too.
